A large scale deployment of the protocol is being planned in Asia, North America and Europe. The U.S. Government has stated that its federal agencies will have made the transition to IPv6 by 2008.
A small percent of live addresses in the publicly accessible Internet use IPv6, the large majority use IPv4.
